Tool 10.5 Liveweight targets for weaners and young ewes
The table provides a guide for the minimum target liveweight for maiden ewes from birth to pre-joining. The target weight at any given time depends on the standard reference weight (SRW, Tool 10.7) of the ewe. Following these guidelines ensures high rates of weaner survival and acceptable reproductive performance in young ewes.
